“20 feet under the sea, she was there, probably waiting for him […]”

[…] He took off his belt, wrapped it around her waist, probably worried that she might be carried away by the current. He did not want to be alone, and neither did she. He sat next to her, and for countless hours, they stared at the grey water and all the rubbish littering the sea floor. I would find them there, in this exact same position, days after days. The same sadness in their eyes. One day, I kindly made a sign asking if I could take a picture. He responded to my sign. But soon after I took the shot, he took back his belt from her and swam away. I never saw him again, ever. Her, she's still there, everyday. I still do visit her. She hangs on, against all odds, staring at the grey water. And I like to sit next to her for some minutes at a time. It seems like we are looking at the end of the world.
